No Dudes with “No Fat Chicks” Shirts
We’ve seen them in football stadiums, in line for churros, sitting at the back of class, tripping on their way to work. They are usually loud-mouthed, arrogant, and overcompensating for some embedded Freudian issue they have yet to work out with their daddy. Yes, I’m talking ‘bout the dudes wearing the “No Fat Chicks” shirts. I had a whole blog written about this topic and then I realized it went into a debate I didn’t want to enter — it might be all the feminist criticism I’ve been reading, or my lack of a sense of humor, or the fact that I’m not up for getting into debates that sound like, “wa wa you hurt my feelings.” So, I will simply concede to this – yes, the shirt can be funny in very disheartening sense ‘cuz it doesn’t completely exclude me anymore, and I will add an FYI that, to me, the most attractive quality in either sex is self-awareness and general awareness (in a philosophical, not literal, sense). So do what you will with this completely tangential blog!
p.s. If you wear this shirt, you will always remind of this irony of judgment:
