Learn from Elizabeth Bennet
As I sit here this morning and reflect on this past week, I can’t stop thinking about my research topic and one of my favorite novels: Pride and Prejudice. And you know how I always say I’m fascinated by the interconnectedness of the different avenues of our lives, right? Well, here are the top three things Pride and Prejudice teaches us about exercise through its protagonist Elizabeth Bennet:
- Walking is good for self-reflection.
- Walking is good for attracting the most virtuous of the opposite sex.
- Walking together is an expression of love.
I could go into all the details of the book, but since this isn’t a literary blog, I’ll spare you. Just remember that its the old, irrational or snooty women in the novel who despise exercise…So if you are hesitant to do any today, let that inspire you!
