You Won’t Gain a Roll Eating this Roll

Maybe for you tomorrow is just another manic Monday.  Maybe you can already hear that chick from Office Space going, “sounds like some one’s got a case of the Mondays” and you just wanna smack her.  I get it.  Mondays = no fun.  But I can’t tell if I am horrified or just terribly excited as tomorrow is Jen and my check in day with our challenge.  This past week, I’ve been a conscientious host to my body.  I’ve watched what I fed her, got her some exercise, gave her words of encouragement and even fed her pal, the soul, some good books – which is always great.  But will she repay me on the scale, or will she throw a defiant tantrum and shout, “I refuse to let go of those pounds, Annabel!”  Eek.  We’ll see, won’t we?! Keep your fingers crossed for me?

Ok, on to a new food I’m both happy and sad I found.  Happy because it’s amazingly delicious.  Sad because it’s amazingly delicious.  Ya feel me?

These don’t look too much like bagels, which is good because I’ve basically sworn off bagels and haven’t had one in like, I dunno, 3-5 years?  But these feel and taste like bagels and that just makes them feel oh-so-delectable and forbidden and oh…I’m drooling!

For one: 230 calories, 2 g fat, 4 g fiber, 7 g protein

I cut it in half and heat one half in the microwave for 30 seconds.  I then hope and pray that I can wrap up the other half and refrigerate it for later.  Yea, um, that hasn’t happened yet!  But at least I get a tiny bit more exercise having to heat the other half up after I devour the first instead of just heating them up together, right? Right?!  Hey, sometimes I gotta feed myself some b-s.  We all do.

Really though — I ate this after my 5-mile run today and it was just absolutely satisfying and delicious.  Amazing that it doesn’t need almond butter or any topping to taste like a treat.  I highly recommend them!

Oh mi gosh!  The ice cream man just came down my street and they literally have a bull-horn that goes “HELLO!” in a weird clown-like voice!  Hilarious!  Wanna hear something funny?  Back in the day, when my twin and I were little (young) and round (chubbers), the ice cream man would literally STOP IN FRONT OF OUR HOUSE.  He knew that if we were not outside awaiting him it was either because a) it took us chubby kids a while to put down our forks and run outside, b) we were scrounging up change, or c) we couldn’t hear him over the t.v. but would eventually see him parked in front.  Yes, my friends, it’s with both a smile and a bit of sadness that I look back on those days. Such bad habits! Did the ice cream man pay you a visit when you were little? (or still? hehe)

Ok guys so tomorrow after I show photo proof of whether or not the scale has budged since my 138-pound reveal last Monday, we will be checkin’ in with Jen of Prior Fat Girl to see how she did on her first week of the challenge.  I will also be giving you guys the low-down on calorie counts and exercise totals for the week so you really have an idea of what I’m doing and you can offer up any suggestions.

Scared. Excited.

Man, those rolls look so good! I don’t have a TJ’s near me (maybe that’s a good thing, though!).
The Ice Cream Man used to let the neighborhood kids (including me) ride in the truck with him for a while! He was cool. And part of the reason why I’m blogging about losing weight today, I’m sure!

Don’t feel so bad about the Ice Cream man, he would park in front of my house too & he knew my name and what ice creams I was going to get. I’ve always had a thing for sweets.

Thanks for letting me know about those TJ’s rolls!!! I haven’t tried them, but, seriously, I NEED to now :) They look and sound delish! I would be the same way – I can never seem to leave 1/2 for later but it does feel like “seconds” when you go back for the other half I bet :D
