The Greatest Love Affair

I recently had to get something off my chest that was tearing me up inside.  It was hard to say it, hard to face the truth, and hard to potentially break some one’s heart… But I can’t live a lie. I had to tell my boyfriend that I was leaving him for a cinnamon roll.

Ok, maybe I’m not leaving him for a cinnamon roll, but let’s just say he’s got major competition for my affection.  I had a very insightful post planned for today, but instead, I feel compelled to confess that a cinnamon roll has entered my belly every day of this past week.  Your turn.  Confess to your heart’s desire.

Ever eat something so much you feared you’d turn into that food? Maybe I’ve seen Charlie and the Chocolate Factory too much, but this

is ingrained in my mind and I fear that after all my cinnamon roll consumption I will be turning into one giant swirl roll of gooey goodness.  Is there a food that you eat almost every day? Or here’s a funner question — if you could turn into one food, which one would it be? I’m actually scared at what you crazy foodies will say…

Alright, sorry for the random post, but eh, it happens. I guess I should let you know that today was a really hard day in terms of the challenge.  I was just not feeling it.  But then I slapped myself a little, ran 4.5 miles and got an endorphin rush (which may be responsible for this spazzy, off-kilter post).  So, yea, I’m still on track and being “good” (i.e. meaning that I stuck to ONE cinnamon roll when I could have easily devoured 3 of those apple-of-my-eye treats).

If you see me rolling around later, please point me in the right direction or, better yet, poke a hole in me to let the air out.  Thanks.

ooohhh….dangerous question!

Food I could eat every day:
- Mexican
- Peanuts (or peanut butter)
- Hummus
- Toast
- Eggs (scrambled, omlette, sunny side up, whatever!)
- Banana’s
- Ice cream cones (just the cone, no ice cream needed!)

I better stop, I’m getting hungry!

Good for you with your 4.5 mile run – you are totally going to rock this challenge!

Avocados. For a couple of weeks, I pretty much ate a half of one everyday – either on a turkey sandwich (!!) or with a spoon right out of the skin….

Ohhhh creamy deliciousness.

Peanut Butter and Ice Cream are probably my fixations. Although i’ve gotten much better about portion control on both….otherwise it would be disasterous! haha

Way to go on the run! That is awesome :) You’re going to kick this challenge’s tail in a major way!

Keep it up!!

Just don’t get trapped into thinking that since you had one and it didn’t kill you, then you can do it again, and again, and with more than one cinnamon roll! I know it’s so easy to do that, I’ve done it with coffee. And the only way I’ve had success is saying “absolutely none” for 30 days. Once the habit is totally broken, maybe I’ll try my hand at this moderation thing. But until then, it’s deprivation!

There are definitely foods I can eat almost every day. I eat a pb and jelly english muffin every morning. Yes, it’s healthy, but it also feels like I’m being decadent and I love that. I’m with you on the cinnamon roll. Last night I made zucchini muffins and I had to force myself to stop at one this morning (along side my beloved english muffin). Sigh. I love food…

Are these Holey Donuts rolls or “real” ones… something tells me they’re healthy rolls :)
You know I go through days of “not feelings it” but I’m happy to be back on the wagon as of yesterday. Woo Hoo! Thank god I actually like being healthy :)

Hi Annabel and thanks for visiting my site! Wow–150 lbs! That is awesome. Congrats! Have you found weight maintenance easy? I am really struggling. Losing it was easy but once I hit my goal weight everything changed.
I could eat (and pretty much do eat) yogurt every day. In a dream world. I would eat rice every night…it’s my favorite food!

OMG! I so love REAL cinnamon rolls from the bakery! I can’t remember the last tie I had one but whenever there are samples or someone else has one, I am going to have a bite.. or two! :-)

Every day, I have to have my bread! Yes, it is healthy bread but I love it & ain’t gonna give it up!!!!!! I also love my after dinner treat of either Costco organic animal crackers (they are really cookies) or my cinnamon graham crackers.

As for treats… I have to have my big ole cookie treat every weekend! I have a couple different flavors that are my fav so… sometimes & often it is TWO big ole cookies over the weekend! No chocolate chip for me though!

Congrats on keeping up the good work!

Peanut butter is definitely my weakness. And pizza, I could eat that every day!
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is one of my all time favorite movies! One of the best parts is the beginning with the chocolate.

I eat kabocha every day. Pretty much. If I don’t I’m sad! I also eat oat bran and spinach and peanut butter every day. And usually a salad of some sort.

My everyday food is dark chocolate! Wouldn’t mind turning into it. ;-) Great post. I also liked the one on people getting militant about THEIR WAY of doing things. I’m thrilled that I found what works for me, hope I don’t come across as too obnoxious about it.
