If I Could Dip My Life In Cheese…

it would be easier to swallow (that’s what she said!). But, since that ain’t gonna happen, I’ll settle for some fondue food dippin’! The boyfriend loves fondue so we had our own little fondue party for two a la ghetto style (without the actual fondue pot). You can find fondue cheese at Trader Joe’s in the refrigerator section. Each 1/4 cup has 130 calories.

Being mindful of my commitment to the challenge, I prepared my own selection of foods to dip, which included broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and Oroweat double fiber bread. The boyf dipped a Trader Joe’s french baguette.  My spread:

I’ll be honest, fondue is not really something I’d ever crave, whine about missing, or create a voodoo worship doll for.  Frankly, the only things on my “well I would walk five hundred miles” (remember that song?) desire list are cheesecake and other sweets.  Melty cheese just doesn’t win me over.  Do you like fondue?  What are your favorite dippers?

This, on the other hand, is 500-miles worthy.

No, we didn’t eat that, but I’m just sayin’ — I  would totally put some mileage in for that.  Have you had dessert fondue?

Yikes, I’m gettin’ real hungry — I shouldn’t have searched Flickr for pictures of chocolate fondue, d’oh!  So, you guys know that Monday is Challenge Update #2? Jen and I will be checking in with each other to see if we’ve come any closer to reaching our goal! I can’t wait to hear how you guys are doing on your challenges!

Unrelated, but may be useful:  Costco just sent out a pack of coupons to their members that includes $20 off a Garmin 305, making the sale price $149.99.  Sale from 6/15-7/5.

Ok, I’m off to get ready for the day.  What are you guys doing this weekend?  I am going to see either Moon or Food Inc. tonight.  Which would you choose? I think I can guess… ;)

I love cheese but lucky for me, my bod does not so I don’t have to worry about adding extra calories & fat from it! The pics look yummy though!

Me, having dinner with my youngest stepdaughter for her bday tonight!

Have a good one!

holy.cow. I heart fondue. Both the cheese and the chocolate kind. Like Val mentioned, there are several Fondue places here in Dallas that are awesome! Hubby and I go there for special occasions :)

For Cheese fondue, i love carrots, broccoli, granny smith apples, and bread.

Chocolate fondue dippers i love are marshmallows, strawberries, bananas, cherries, angel food cake, rice krispy treats.

I’m glad i just ate lunch or else i might drag Hubby to the Fondue place right now. LOL

Have a great weekend!

I am actually not a fan of fondue at alll.. it has that slight beer taste (or maybe that’s just me..) I’ve never had dessert fondue but it sounds like it kicks it’s cheesier brothers ass!

Dove dark chocolate fondue – the only kind! And dark chocolate is a healthy MUFA, so if you dip fresh fruit and protein-filled nuts, it’s quite the healthy dish! ;-)
