Challenge Update #6
Updated to include additional give-aways!
It’s been six weeks of the This Ain’t No Freshman 15, This is the Final 10 Challenge and that means it’s WEIGH-IN time! Before you read my stats below, make sure to check out Jen, Prior Fat Girl’s, blog to see how she’s coming along!
Here we go:
- Starting Weight: 138 lbs.
- Last Weigh-In July 6: 132.6 lbs.
- Today’s Weigh-In July 13: 131.2lbs.
Here are my daily exercise and calorie consumption stats from last week:
- Monday — 1700 calories, ran 4.15 miles
- Tuesday — 1400 calories, rest day
- Wednesday — 1700 calories, ran 4.25 miles
- Thursday — 1450 calories, 6o minute rollerblading, 15 min strength training
- Friday — 1800 calories, rest day
- Saturday – 1600 calories, ran 6 miles
- Sunday – 1500 calories, ran 3.11 miles, 30 minute strength training
This past week was not too hard for me as I didn’t feel deprived and yet didn’t feel overindulgent. I took two rest days instead of my usual one as I’ve been a little sick and requiring more rest. Aside from my twin landing in the ER (see here) and a few other hiccups here and there in Cranky Land, I’m dealin’. Let’s just say I definitely practiced what I preach in not letting stress allow me to cave and eat a plate of brownies or stray from the gym. I’ll admit, I find it interesting that once I was not so resolved on losing weight, and had actually accepted that I would gain muscle weight due to all the strength training, I actually lost some weight. Sometimes my body seems like a Sphinx even I can’t crack.
What’s next for this week?
More strength training. When things get a little stressed around here that seems to be the first thing out the window and yet that feeling of being strong and capable that comes from strength training is precisely what I need. This week, I’m back on full-fledged baby budding bicep patrol. OoooH! The Baby Budding Bicep Brigade would be a perfect term for the cranky one’s strength training efforts, dontcha think? Gotta love that consonance.

Well done on another great loss! I really think you’re going to make your goal!
I started another 30 Day Challenge today. No Meat Athlete likes to do 30-day challenges and you can choose what you want to do for 30 days… I’m giving up sugar, bread, alcohol and coffee. It shouldn’t be too bad, provided I can eat at home.
I don’t exercise when I’m sick, for the simple reason that the body needs all the energy it has to fight the infection. I also believe in eating very lightly when sick and having things like fresh vegetable juices and green smoothies instead, since they require very little energy to digest. Rest is key!
Have a fabulous week!
You are doing great on your challenge!
Annabel, you are SO CLOSE TO YOUR GOAL, I am totally pumped for you! Here’s to another week full of continuing to grow & push ourselves not only physically but mentally as well – love ya!
Great going, Bella! And look forward to your interview w/ the great MizFit. And, no, I definitely do not exercise when sick, unless my body tells me it would benefit from moving. It usually says don’t do it.
bahahha you know me to well babygirl
congrats on the progress this week, Annabel! those 3.2 pounds don’t stand a chance!

Great job! I’m finally proud to admit… i’ve dug myself out of my hole I created for myself. I’m back to feeling normal… ok as normal as I can get.
I realized before I stepped on the scale today that i need to focus more on What I’m doing and not the end game…. meaning Monday weigh ins. I wish I had the courage not to weigh in… But I just feel no changes in my body… so i need that reminder of what I’m doing… or as in the past 2 weeks… not doing. Anyhow…
Again great job on the challenge!
And no… I don’t work out when i’m sick. I’m just not that crazy yet.
You’re doing awesome! Sounds like you’ve found a good balance.
Congrats on your weight loss & budding biceps! Love the weights! You are so close to your goal. Keep up the good work!
As for working out when sick.. they say if it is just a head thing.. from the shoulders up, you should be OK but take it easy & listen to the bod & drink your fluids. if you Don’t have a temp. If the whole body aches meaning crap from the shoulders down too, they say you should wait till you feel better & maybe just rest & do some stretching at home…..
I rarely get sick.. knock on wood but I do follow the above & mine have mostly been head stuff thru the years.
Awesome job on the challenge this week! I know your focus isn’t weight loss anymore, but you’re really doing great in moving forward and getting there anyway!
As for me, I do usually work out when I’m sick, but mainly because I’m stubborn and it’s part of my routine. I dial down the intensity for certain, and I do occasionally miss some days…but I think that’s just par for the course.
You are doing so well – amazingly long runs too!
Will be back on Thurs, that’s for sure as I heart her MizFitness!
Looks like you had a great week! I love the budding bicep brigade! I got myself back on track too after a few weeks of poo. Cheers to another great week!
I usually take a few days off when I’m in the thick of something bad, and usually take it easier for about a week. I typically get sick about once a year so I indulge myself when I do. Feel better!
Great job not giving into the stress eating!! That is very difficult! Looks like you are doing great with the challenge!
you go girl! keep on keepin’ healthy and happy!! i love all that giveaway love. happy tuesday to you!
