TGIF & Video Product Review

TGIF, guys!  In celebration of it being the beginning of the weekend, I’ve decided to bore you for 3 minutes…hmm, that doesn’t quite follow, does it? c’est le vie!

Here’s my long review (which I keep saying will be “quick” in the video…) of some Alternative Baking Co., Inc. vegan cookies kindly sent my way:

(URL here too)

Here are the actual stats of the two cookies I tried:

Double Chocolate Decadence

  • For entire cookie — 460 calories, 18 g fat (7 saturated), 4 g fiber, 6 g protein
  • No dairy, no egg, no honey, no hydrogenated oils, no cholesterol, no preservatives, no artificial ingredients or refined sugars

Phenomenal Pumpkin Spice

  • For entire cookie — 440 calories, 12 g fat (3 g saturated), 6 g fiber, 8 g protein
  • No dairy, no egg, no honey, no hydrogenated oils, no cholesterol, no preservatives, no artificial ingredients or refined sugars

You can check out their other flavors here.  I would want to try the Peanut Butter Persuasion one as I love p.b. almost as much as Jenny does.

If you want to buy directly from their site, there is an order minimum of 3 packages (total of 15 cookies) for $37.50, free shipping. That breaks down to $2.50/cookie.

All my veganistas out there might enjoy the little slogan on the cookie wrapper: “Why vegan? No single food choice has farther-reaching and more profoundly positive impact on our health, the environment, and all of life on Earth than choosing vegan.”

Have you tried these cookies?  What are your favorite brand of cookies? Please share, I want to know! Do you think I’m lame for slicing up a cookie like a pie? I’ve come a loooong way, guys.  I used to bake a batch of Nestle Toll House chocolate cookies every weekend.  I kid you not — every weekend! Since then, I have baked them for special occasions and practiced that little “m” word.  Moderation.  Ugh it makes me gag just saying it, but I love my body much more than I love those cookies, ya know what I mean jelly bean?

Give-Away
Are you tired of me telling you about give-aways? Sorry, but if you don’t need free stuff you obviously have a heftier paycheck than I do and, in that case, I think you should donate to my Trader Joe’s fund.

  • Yum Yucky is giving away a one-year subscription to Fitness Magazine along with some Fitness Mag. swag.  Click here.

I won’t be blogging tomorrow as I will be cooking up a storm for my future sis-n-law’s bridal shower and bachelorette party (this is my first bachelorette party!).  In case I’m too hung-over on Sunday (wow, I’m such a role model!) and don’t blog then either, here’s what to look forward to next week:  Monday is the 7th week challenge weigh-in!  Holy mole! Does that scare you?  It scares me!  I’m also feelin’ generous so I might be having another give-away…but only if you behave!  Plans for the weekend? Have any crazy bachelorette party stories you want to share?! ;)

<3,

Hope you have a blast at the bachelorette party! :) The only one i went to wasn’t overly scandalous, but it made me decide that neither hubby or I wanted to have our own when we got married. nonetheless, i’m sure y’all will have a great time!!

“that’s in my bellay.. it was good” buahahha.. you’re a freakin’ riot girl!

1 delish cookies = much better than 5 nastay-a$$ low cal cookies .. it’s simple math really.

p.s. can i please have your hair?! your curls are gorgeous!

OK, I LOVE COOKIES.. THAT IS MY GO TO TREAT!!! Every weekend is “go get a cookie or two” weekend for me! Now, I am not a vegan so…. I love oatmeal raisin, snickerdoodles, an orange cream one I found at Borders, molasses spice & HOLY COW, pumpkin spice.. YUMMY! I am not caring about calories or fat when I eat them! Those near a Pain du Monde.. their cookies ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For a more healthy cookie, try Trader Joe’s. They have these Oatmeal Cranberry cookies by Zen Bakery…. BUT for 200 calories, 3g of fat, 2g fiber, 3g of protein per cookie (http://www.zenbakery.com/oatcrancook.html), yummy! OK, I think I know too much about cookies! :-)

Hey, love the video & the links! Already got to Yum Yucky!! I will check out that NYT article later.

Have a great weekend & fun.. sounds like it!!!! :-)

“I love my body much more than I love those cookies, ya know what I mean jelly bean?” I LOVE THIS. Last night I loved my body more than I loved the chicken wings at midnight, I just didn’t know how to put it as succinctly as that. You rock!

Have fun! My bachelorette is coming up here soon. I’m scared/excited/etc to see what adventures my crazy maid of honor will be cooking up! =)

I love vegan cookies. Long before I was even a healthy mama, I loved them. So good.

Have fun at your bachelorette party, but watch that alcohol and be SAFE!!!

Yike! Over 400 calories for one single cookie? We must be talking some pretty large cookies, yes?

I love me some sweet food, but I don’t think I could eat a cookie that rich. (Says the woman who just ate four whole cups of sweet cherries… they were so good! I couldn’t stop myself! And now I can’t stop using excess punctuation! Help!!!!)

Miz who is still kinda about the tollhouse and has a FITNESS MAG give today too.
