It’s Stress, Not the Cat, That’s Got My Tongue
Hey guys! Stress and rumination have caught my tongue, so I will use pictures to aid me in describing what’s up!
I’ve been avoiding this place like the plague

Feeling a bit like this little guy

Wishing there was something to block all the thoughts that might make me a little too self-reflective

Not eating enough of these
and generally doing too much of this
Been there? What do you do to snap out of it?
Is it any wonder that, growing up, I always related to this character?

Is there a character, cartoon or otherwise, that you have always related to?

Oh my sweet friend, I know how you feel. you’ve hit a slump and just need a push to get out of you. Someways to help, write down your accomplishments, start thinking of all the things thus far that you’re accomplished and then write down your future goals. AND go buy yourself a new workout outfit, it seriously will help you hit the gym again.
“Wishing there was something to block all the thoughts that might make me a little too self-reflective” OMG I agree with this statement 100%! Sometimes I wish I could just get out of my own head because I over-analyze everything all the time. I don’t have any advice except maybe going to the gym will actually help you get your mojo back? Sometimes a good workout does that for me.
Oh and I’m ashamed to admit this…but if I could eat without guilt (see above) I would totally eat the Oreo pizza. It sounds good to me
I used to get “dessert pizza” from a pizza buffet place my grandma used to take me to…many years and pounds ago, of course.
i have been there MANY times…and the honest, true answer to snap out of it, is to go through the motions of what you want to want to do.(i know that probably made no sense to you..) What i mean is that, you have to get up and go to the gym, you have to eat the healthy food you don’t want to eat, and you just have to do other things that make you happy. Even if you don’t feel like going out with friends, go out with friends. When I get in a funk, i know that the best thing to do is to pull myself out of it, and laying around doesn’t get you out of it. You have to actively work towards getting out of the funk. It’s daunting, and not what you want to do, but you will thank yourself when your out of the funk! promise
I think you’re right. I think we are twins. Faux twins. Wouldn’t ever try to step on your REAL twin’s territory.
You can pull yourself out of this funk. When that happened to me, and it did frequently, I’d have to remind myself of my goals. Then,
I would do what I didn’t want to do. I’d exercise, I’d make good choices, I’d keep occupied. Then my heart would eventually catch up with what my mind had decided to do.
Take care.
I have to agree with Lauren. It really helps me to go and buy a new workout outfit. Or maybe schedule one or two sessions with a personal trainer. It always helps me get to the gym when I know I have someone waiting. Plus, I work harder, because I have a huge ego and have to be perfect. Good luck! Slumps are totally normal.
we all get in to our slumps Annabel – don’t get down on yourself for it.. maybe you in a workout/food slump.. try switching thaaangs up a little bit
i always relate to Jasmine from Aladdin. Okay, maybe we don’t have anything in common but i wish i was a princess
I think we’re on the same page lately, my friend. Stress does not play well with my already issue-filled eating.
Let’s pull ourselves together before it gets the best of us.
