I love love love dips…you are making me hungry! I agree you have to be careful at the farmers market -it can get really pricey! can I get a rss through email on your site ? or just feeds?

I have a few farmers markets in my area and some are more expensive than others. The cheaper one I find a lot more affordable but I do, on occasion, shop at the other ones too (they are on different days – that’s why). For the most part, yes, it’s much cheaper to shop at a grocery store, but I do like supporting local farmers and talking to them about their produce. Luckily I’ve been able to stay within our budget while still doing so. It meant less meat on a weekly basis and a little more planning.

As for the night eating thing, I am with you. My feeling is it is what & how much people are eating at night. Usually, it is mindless eating & too much of it. To each their own though!

Farmers markets can be hit or miss with price. Sometimes it is much less to purchase items there than the bigger grocery store. Sometimes it is worth paying more because the product is better. Sometimes it isn’t.

My favorite thing to get at farmers markets is cheese. I love fresh cheese and will pay a little more for that.

The only coffee shop that is open late enough around here is Starbucks, and we go there, but prefer other places. We have breakfast at the other local coffee shops and sit to read the paper or just chitchat.

I haven’t actually ever been to a farmers market. I do try to get as much of my grocery list as I can from the local store. Its a little more expensive but the food lasts longer without spoiling, so I think it evens out.

I love going to the farmer’s market but definitely not to save money. I like going there because the food is local and I can get organic, but yeah, I totally agree that if you shop wisely at the supermarket you can certainly save money.

I love my local starbucks. I usually only meet one friend there and we always have the best conversations so maybe that is why!
