Haunts from the Past, Food & Costumes

Additional Give-Aways Listed

Hey guys!  It’s been a while, eh?  I have been behind on posting, but still keeping up with all of you guys as that spooky stalker type who reads but does not comment buahahah! :D

In keeping with the Halloween theme, my eating patterns this past week have been frightening.  It’s like the ghosts and goblins of the past came back to haunt me and, guys, I need to call the Ghost Busters, ‘cuz if don’t stop quick, I’ll be looking like this guy just in time for tomorrow

Cranky and a little more robust than I’d like…

While I have been stuffing my face with some not-so-good stuff, I’ve also had the chance to make some share-worthy dishes — both featuring a food I often overlook — cabbage!

Above is tofu cooked via my fave recipe here and mixed with sauteed cabbage, carrots, onion and red and yellow bell pepper.  It was a-mazing!

The above is my tofu stir fry from here, tossed with a salad mix, cranberries and a fat-free balsamic dressing from Trader Joe’s.  I actually like the taste of warm stir fry mixed with room-temp salads and cold dressing.  Weird much?

About cabbage:  “This food is very low in saturated fat and cholesterol. It is also a good source of vitamin A, thiamin, vitamin B6, calcium, iron and magnesium, and a very good source of dietary fiber, vitamin C, folate, potassium and manganese” – Via Nutritiondata here

Halloween Costume Suggestions

This past weekend I had a Halloween party to go to and decided on going through my mom’s stash of vintage clothes to fashion a costume.  I ended up as a 1950s I Love Lucy type, but, stupidly, did not take a full-length picture to showcase the beauty of the dress.  I will have to take a picture of the dress alone to share because it is stunning!  I love that my mom has tons of amazing vintage clothes for me to play dress-up with! :D   Here’s me with my little navy hat

and with my lovely friend, Foxy Brown

Still in need of Halloween costume suggestions?  Here’s a couple just for you!

  • Be a Health Blogger – Wear your exercise clothes, bear a protein bar in one hand and a green monster in another.  Be a tad annoying and take pictures of everyone’s food. Tee-hee.
  • Be Your Fave Blogger — I’ll leave this one to your imagination but I was giggling thinking about it! :D   I think I’d pose giving the peace sign if I were this beautiful honey nut or I’d wear a hot ward robe from TJ Maax, pose in lotus posture and hold a jar of p.b. if I were this hot gem.  :D

Want some tips on how to stick to stay on the health track tomorrow?  See here.

Ohh I am being haunted by some sort of Halloween monster too! I ate waaaaay too much candy this week. Its just so hard to resist those cute little candy bars. I have just decided that I will add a little extra to my workouts next week to make up for it. Happy Halloween!!
