Vegan Veggie Burgers

Hey guys! Did you have a nice weekend? Things were going well for me until yesterday morning. I was out getting groceries for the boyf and my Valentine’s Day dinner when I started to feel faint, weak, cold and sweaty. By the time I got home, I was a mess! So, I opted to sleep off the sickness and postpone our dinner :(   It was a real rough night last night — I could hardly sleep and I kept having a bizarre recurring dream that I was part of a lecture circuit about healthy lifestyles. Wow…delusions of grandeur even when I sleep! ;)

Anywho! I’m feeling a little bit better today, but still weak and freezing and without an appetite. Fingers crossed I’ll be better this afternoon in time to see the boyf and to work on all my school assignments and freelance work… oy!

So, I wanted to give you guys a list of some cool vegan veggie burger options I’ve found. I haven’t tried them all, but I thought I’d throw them out there.

I used to really like the Boca original and flame grilled. Then they changed the recipe and the calorie count went up and the taste was different. Hmmm…

I like Morningstar Grillers, too.

I’ve tried the boca burgers but I can’t remember if I liked them. I’m thinking no bc I didn’t buy them again… I wonder if any of those are decent. You’ll have to let us know!

We got the wii a couple of weeks ago and the wii fit last week. We had to look and look and look. We love the wii sports. We play tennis and bowling quite a bit. The boxing is a workout too! We both were sooo sore the first few days.

The wii fit is for exercise novice. The most I can burn (for my weight) is almost 300 cals in an hour. And if I’m exercising for an hour, I wanna burn much more than that. But the activities are fun so I’m debating keeping it or not. Let us know what you think if you get one/both

It’s tax season; my hubbs and I got a wii last year around this time and it took us a while to find one, too. Check Toys R Us, that’s where we managed to get a hold of one.

I am not really a fan of boca burgers, they just taste so artificial to me. However, I must say that Amy’s burgers are amazing and very hearty. My favorites are the Texas and Bistro flavors. So good and full of healthy ingredients too. I really want to try that TJ’s masala burger though!

Amy’s veggie burgers are out of this world, but also more expensive. Dr. praeger’s are honestly my least favorite, as I think they taste like mushy potatoes. Veggie Masala burgers from Trader Joe’s are great, but they taste like samosas as opposed to veggie burgers, and are low on the protein. Boca are the cheapest but TASTE like it (seriously, the vegan one is pretty terrible, in my opinion). All things considered, I’d say Garderburger or Morningstar Farms are you bet. Making your own with beans and grains is also hockingly easy and cheap, though!

Sunshine burgers are great, especially the garden herb and southwest flavored. They are organic, soy free, gluten free, vegan and all natural. The Garden Herb flavored burger has only 5 ingredients which is much better than most veggie burgers.

The california garden burgers are the ones I buy in bulk from costco. They also had a bigger black bean burger as well that works well for mexican food. I am sooooooo going to keep my eyes out for that masala one, that sounds AWESOME!

I stopped buying these products because of the ominous ingredients and the 7 sources of hidden MSG.
