Book Give-away! TGIF!
Two posts in one days? Whoa, it’s like the Twilight Zone or somethin’!
Just stopping by to offer you guys a lovely Friday give-away! I have three copies EACH of the following two books to give-away:
The Three Day Cleanse by Zoe Sakoutis and Erica Huss

“This books guides readers through step-by-step guidelines for a 1-day, 3-day, and 14-day cleanse, as well as a long-term maintenance plan.Throughout are sidebars, quick tips, secrets and advice from people who have successfully done the cleanse. In addition to the juice, raw, and partially-raw food recipes in the book, the authors include advice on battling the urge to cheat and working the cleanse into a busy lifestyle. Prepare to boost your immune system, alleviate allergies and PMS, improve your mood and sex drive, and clear up your skin. Finally, the juice service adored by many is available for you to create in your own home!”
AND
This is Why You’re Fat by Jackie Warner

“‘Being fat isn’t your fault; staying fat is.’ That’s what Jackie Warner, America’s favorite no-nonsense celebrity fitness trainer tells her own clients, and that’s why no one delivers better results than Jackie does. Now for the first time, Jackie shares her revolutionary program, showing readers the best ways to drop pounds and inches fast, without grueling workouts or deprivation, and keep them off for good! Her two-tiered approach provides a complete nutritional makeover and a failure-proof condensed workout routine PLUS all the emotional support and encouragement you need to get to the finish line and beyond. With Jackie’s core principles, you’ll discover once and for all which behaviors are making you fat, and which can finally make you thin forever-and some may surprise you.”
If you’re looking for the extra motivation to do some err “Spring Cleaning” of the body, these could definitely help ya out. I feel inclined to mention that the title of Jackie’s book makes me cringe — though I’m all about shortening my work-outs and eating more, so I’ll listen to ya, Jackie, I’ll listen!

For each of the following, please leave me a comment noting you did it; also, if you’d only like one of the two books, please state which one in each comment. Entries to be accepted until Sunday, 4/4 at midnight. Winner announced Monday, 4/5, morning. Winners chosen via Random Number Generator.
- Tweet about this give-away: “@FeedMeImCranky1 is giving away health and fitness books!”
- Link-back to this give-away on a blog post, on Facebook or via Pigeon to all your friends
- Add me to your blog-roll
- Tell me a joke
- Tell me how lame it is when bloggers use give-aways to shamelessly find ways to promote their blogs!
Holla’!
Must be a U.S. citizen with a mailing address. As per FCC rules, I must note that the Hachette Book Group is offering these books to winners I choose, free of charge. I have accepted neither books for myself nor financial compensation in hosting this give-away. p.s. Legalese is lame and this is giving me nightmarish flash-backs from my law-firm job days.
Good luck!

“Lame” is such a harsh word… how about creative? Or generous? We’re just trying to spread the goodness, right? I’d love to read either of those books!
Entry #2… I’m in the process of working on a blog roll, but in the mean time, I’m subscribed to your blog. That counts.. right?
ok, i CLEARLY win with this one. courtesy of my 7 year old cousin:
“what do you get when you mix an elephant and an easter bunny?”
“an elephant who never forgets to eat his carrots!”
ha. haha.
Just in time for easter:
Q: What do you call a sleep walking nun?
A: A roamin’ Catholic!
Psh, all you would have to do is scoot the book across the table in ecocriticism
Either book would be interesting to read, though the second one piques my interest more, I suppose.
I’m going to advertise you on my Facebook today, but in the meantime here’s a joke that my friend just told me the other day:
“Why did the chicken cross the road? Why the hell do I care, I’m in Hawaii!”
Yeah, he’s in Hawaii. It made ME laugh, anyway.
Dearest Annabel:
It’s been at least two years (or more…?) since our little foray into the world of orientalism (right? was that it?). Anyway, awesome blog, and your joke comes from Michael Pollan himself:

I’d love to win the Jackie Warner book because I think her shoulders and abs ROCK. I’m deep like that.
I don’t think giveaways are lame. I think they are kinda a cool way to promote and offer readers a chance to win something. However I do think it’s silly or over-the-top when they offer like 2500 ways to gain entries. Anything over 8 is just too labor intensive for me.
I tweeted. Oh I was supposed to say in the comments I’m interested in the Jackie book.
A termite walks into a bar and asks, “Is the bar tender here?”
Jackie
i tweeted @ashleigh325
you’re on my blogroll, which i just noticed disappeared when i redid my layout.. but i am subscribed too
I think it’s a great idea to promote your blog by hosting giveaways
and an easter joke… Is it true that bunnies have good eyesight? Well you never see a bunny wearing glasses, do you?
Thanks for the contest!! I tweeted here: http://twitter.com/in_the_hammock/status/12760586170
Giveaways aren’t lame
They are a win-win for everyone involved, the publisher, the blogger and the entrants
