Donation Rally for Japan Up & Running!

Hey guys!

I’m stoked to announce that the Blogging for a Change Donation Rally is up and running! That means we’re offering you the chance to win awesome prizes for free NOW – go see! Remember – this is a week-long rally, so please help us spread the word every day!

We have worked with fantastic companies (seriously, some of my all-time favorite companies and people, EVER!) to bring you more than 60 gifts! I’m seriously moved to see how quickly these companies stepped up and generously donated products and services to help us host this donation rally for Japan.

Now allow me to plagiarize off our Blogging for a Change site: “As you know, more than 10,000 individuals have died in Japan from its recent earthquake, tsunami and a string of unfortunate events. Even still, an untold number remains injured, devastated, and wounded in ways most of us really cannot imagine. If there is ever a moment for all of us bloggers and blog readers to pull together from within and outside the blogosphere, it’s now! Blogging for a Change is dedicated to making a difference, and we know you are, too.

The Donation Rally allows you to enter to win one free entry per item. This is our way of saying thank you simply for checking out the amazing gifts up for grabs. Our hope? That you’ll want to pay it forward! Additional entries to win gifts can be had through donations.

Here’s how to participate:

  1. Scroll through the items on the Donation Rally page.
  2. When you find something you like, use the drop down to select your donation amount and select “donate.”
  3. You will be taken to another page, but don’t worry if you aren’t done – hit the “continue shopping” button to come back to this page.
  4. Don’t forget to click the “One Free Entry” for each item — no donation required.
  5. When you’ve entered all your donations, use PayPal’s secure check out process.
  6. If you’d rather just donate without entering to win a gift, you can do that through our “Donate Now” button located on the right side of the Blogging for a Change homepage.

Remember, 100% of your donation will go straight to the Red Cross to help Japan rebuild!

Over the past several weeks, we at Blogging for a Change have put our hearts and souls into this movement. We have worked late into the night and risen early to complete the many tasks associated with making this dream a reality. We have been stunned by the generosity of our favorite companies and of our fellow bloggers and readers who have taken the time to help us promote this event.

Today, we turn it over to you. It is up to our readers and our fellow bloggers to make this venture into a viral success that can help change lives.

How You Can Help

Here are a few ways you can help the Blogging for a Change Donation Rally succeed:

1.     Donate! Don’t worry if you can’t give a lot. There is power in numbers. That’s why we’re doing this!

2.     Follow us on Twitter and invite your friends to follow us, as well. Use the hashtag #bloggingforachange!

3.     Follow us on Facebook and invite your friends to do the same.

4.     Grab the Blogging for a Change button on the right-hand side of my page.

5.     Spread the word! The Donation Rally continues for an entire week – that’s seven days of opportunities to enter to win prizes, to donate and to spread the love to Japan!

Stay tuned for more opportunities to get involved with Blogging for a Change. This is just the beginning!
