I said I would post this on Mondays, d’oh!
10/31 Mon – none ![]()

Thoughts? In my ideal world, I would work out an hour a day. But this is nothing to sneeze at, I suppose.
My Boyfriend’s Strength Work-Outs
I first mentioned my boyfriend’s cross-fit style work-out here. I did it for 8 weeks consecutively and doubled the amount of weight I could lift in each exercise. For those of you that would like to see what we did, I’ve listed the work out below. We have, however, stopped this routine since I reached a plateau at 80 lbs. My boyfriend thinks that because the work-out was designed to be cardio intense without rest between sets, it may have hindered my ability to build muscle (though not entirely, clearly, as I doubled my weight over 8 weeks!). But we’ve started a different routine, which I also list below.
Squats 21-15-9 (those #s are how many reps in each set) beginning with 40lbs, ended at 80lbs in eight weeks
Bench Press 21-15-9 beginning with 40lbs, ended at 80lbs in eight weeks
Dead Lift 21-15-9 beginning with 40lbs, ended at 80lbs in eight weeks
Overhead Press 21-15-9 we ended at 60 lbs in 8 weeks
Bent Rows 21-15-9 beginning with 40lbs, ended at 80lbs in eight weeks
Dips 5-5-5 (we went up 1 rep each week, so week 2 I was doing 6-6-6, week 3, I was doing 7-7-7 etc. We ended at 12)
Plank Crunch (same as above)
Pull Ups, assisted (same as above)
New Work Out (began last week) – Three times a week; three sets, increase in 1 rep per exercise each time; starting with 12-12-12; one minute rest between each exercise
Pull ups (assisted)
Dips
Squats (75lbs)
Plank Crunch
Deadlifts (75 lbs)
Bench Press (55 lbs)
One leg squats
And, since this post has been rather dry, I think I’ll spice it up with something I said I wouldn’t provide…
You can see the shadow of the turtleshell of armor on my back. Too bad I’m not holding my 6-foot spear!
Yep, that’s me in my Halloween costume – cross-dressing with armor and a giant helmet & no make-up. s-e-x-y. Since my boyfriend likes anonymity, I’ve given him his own costume. Now we’re even. At least in the blog world
<3,

Wow, impressive strength gains! Crossfit is a little scary, but damn, sounds like it’s pretty awesome. I continue to have a crush on crossfit but still haven’t made the first move. Afraid it won’t like me and may even kick my ass!
That workout is great! When it comes to workout regimens, I think it’s important to remember that perfection is never attainable, and that forgiveness and “sticking with it” are closely intertwined. So don’t worry too much if you “only” worked out 41/minutes a week instead of an hour.
Kudos!
