Cranky Update
Hey guys!
Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve last posted! So much has been going on and I’ve been trying to juggle it all. Apparently, I have not been juggling it all so well as I’ve been recovering from a bad fever since Thursday with a high of 103 on Friday.
I was feeling better Sunday night and even went into the office yesterday but come the afternoon and this morning, the symptoms were back again – the cold sweats, the hot flashes, the head pain, and the high body temp. So, I decided to take the day off and go to the doctor. I ended up seeing a new doctor since I asked to be seen on such short notice. The doctor, an older, white-haired man who I want to adopt as my grandpa, looked through my file and remarked that I was in “incredible health”; said that I was “stoic” (I’m not sure what to think of that? lol) and that he couldn’t find anything wrong with me aside from the high body temp. He thinks its a virus, so we have to just watch my temperature. If it continues for more than three more days, or if my temp gets too high, I’ll have to take a blood test. I wish I didn’t feel so miserable!
Aside from the fever, which is not cool, there have been some cool things occurring in Cranky Land:
- Kahlua turned three
My little princess
- my boyfriend and I moved in together. I’m so happy.
- I’ve been able to ::drum roll:: RUN without pain! Since March (maybe even a bit before), I hadn’t been able to run given a pain I was having primarily in my left foot in the metatarsal region. With orthotics, I was able to run a little bit, but still felt pain, so I even stopped that. I began walking in my orthotics and enjoyed the experience, however, even still I would feel pain in my foot (just not as bad). For the first time since March then, I am without any pain in my feet. I am not sold on orhothics and think they may have even been continuing to exacerbate the problem (however, I’m not a doctor!). I no longer wear them. And, I no longer walk or run on the cement. I’ve been “barefoot” running (with my Vibrams) on the sand at the beach and it has been a euphoric experience. The first time I ran on the beach in the sand, I did three miles. I felt like crying afterward, I was so happy. I notice that with barefoot running, my core (and ass) are engaged and found, after the first few times, a lot of soreness in those areas in addition to my calves. No knee pain. No foot pain. I’m so excited.
Sand in the Vibrams? A sign of a great time.
I’m going to be taking it easy; maybe I’ll have more time to blog! I’ve gotten some really awesome and interesting reader questions to answer here and I can’t wait to get crackin’ on those.
<3,
